Nebraska state flag
The Nebraska flag, adopted in 1925, consists of a blue field with the State Seal of Nebraska displayed in the center in gold.

The state is located in the Midwestern region of the country and bordered by Wyoming to its west, Colorado to its southwest, Kansas to its south, Missouri to its southeast and Iowa to its east. Nebraska showcases its Pony Express history and rich culture when it comes to the celebration of its festivals.

- Crane Watch Festival – March
More than 80% of the population of sandhill cranes flies in for the winter. These cranes come from far away places such as Siberia, Alaska, and Canada. They stop over at Platte to gain weight before continuing their journey. This made Kearney the Sandhill Crane Capital of the World. - Nebraskaland – June
This 12-day celebration attracts more than 100,000 fans to North Platte. The event features sports contests, food events, parades, concerts, boxing, micro brew festival, art shows, rodeos and kiddie activities. - Husker Harvest Days – September
Husker Harvest 3-day festival is one of the country’s most popular working farm exhibits with field demonstrations, farm shows, seminars, and crafts. It features 500 exhibitors on 80 acres of field. Visitors enjoy a wide range of products and services from Nebraska. - Nebraska’s Big Rodeo – July
The event was established for 86 years and showcases rodeo events, clown acts, chariot races, chuck wagon races, junior steer riding, bull riding, a dinner bell derby, wild horse races and more. - Arbor Day Celebration – April
This celebration of tree planters was founded in 1872. The celebration encourages tree care and tree planting. It also features kiddie activities, entertainment, a parade and a 5K trail run.
